  • Correct surname Sicard de Carufel. Born 11 June 1921 at Clarkstown, Ont., a direct descendant of Jean Sicard Lord Seigneur de Carufel, who came to Canada and served as a sergeant officer in the Lavaliere Regiment during the Battle of New France. Lived in Sudbury and attended local schools where his hobby was the study of Chemistry. Worked as truckdriver. Enl. London Fusiliers (4 Bn RCR) Jan 1941. Trained North Bay, Leaside, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Vernon, BC. and Esquimalt. Overseas Sep 1942, England, Sicily and Italy. Surv. parents Mr. Mrs. Arthur Sicard de Carufel, Sudbury, Mrs. LF Budd; Laure Anna, Mrs. E. Guin; Mrs. J. Rivard; Mrs. E. Savard; brothers Roland, Ernest and Richard.
